Beer review: Rodenbach Grand Cru

Rodenbach Grand CruThe Rodenbach Grand Cru is a blend of ⅓ young Rodenbach and ⅔ of Rodenbach aged 2 years in oak casks.

Rodenbach is a sour ale which usually is a love/hate affair for beer drinkers.

Dark brown / reddish color with quickly dissipating head.

Very fruity aroma. I’m getting apples and some balsamic vinegar. Some wet wood as well.

Very intense aroma!

Very lively carbonation level in this beer. Almost like sparkling wine. The flavor is much like the aroma. A bit sour and very refreshing!

An absolutely lovely (and very drinkable) sour ale.

The finish lasts quite a while and has hints of dark fruit and apples.

This is a type of beer that you either love or hate. I happen to love it. Score: 4.5/5.

This beer is available at Vinmonopolet.
