Beer review: Nøgne Ø Tiger Tripel

Time for another review. Today I am doing a combo I have enjoyed before. Nøgne Ø Tiger Tripel with some fish & chips. Read on to see if it was a success this time around.

Nøgne Ø Tiger TripelLooks

Hazy golden yellow color with a lively head.

I find the nose on this beer to be very complex.

There are definitely some yeasty hints along with oranges, sweetness from the malt and some hints of honey.

The mouth feel on this beer is great. Smooth with a good amount of carbonation that helps lift all the different flavors.

The flavor is pretty much like the aroma with hints of oranges/lemon, yeast, bread and some alcohol. The beer is well balanced.

The finish is pretty long and feels a bit spicy up front. The taste of orange is the lasting flavor in the finish.

Food matches

Today I enjoyed this beer with some homemade fish & chips with a (homemade) remoulade seasoned with some salt, black and white pepper, dill and lemon. The acidity from the remoulade played well with the hints of orange, lemon and yeast in the beer.

This beer will also go well with some cheeses and different salads.

I have had this beer on many different occasions and I really love it. Score: 4.7/5.

This particular bottle was batch #667 and the beer is available at Vinmonopolet.
