Beer review: Emelisse Triple IPA

Beer number three of four: Triple IPA.

Emelisse Triple IPALooks

Hazy dark orange color with a big off-white head. The head has good retention and leaves some beautiful lacing on the glass.

Strong hoppy character with hints of grass and pine. I’m also picking up a hint of pineapple, as I did with the Double IPA. There are also some nice sweet hints from the malt present.

As the beer warms up I’m getting some spicy notes, perhaps from the yeast used?

The flavor is just as expected, with some extra malty notes present. There is not much alcohol to be found in the flavor (well done, considering an ABV of 10%).

This beer has a slightly higher carbonation level than the other Emelisse beers I tried tonight.

Long finish with some lovely hints of tropical fruits. Low bitterness and some sweetness as well.

A really enjoyable beer! I liked this a lot better than the previous two from Emelisse. Lovely hoppy aroma and flavor and a finish that left me longing for the next sip. Score: 4/5.
