Beer review: Thornbridge Jaipur

Jaipur is the second beer from Thornbridge that has been reviewed on this blog, the first being Raven. Let’s hope this one is equally good!

Here is what the brewery has to say about this IPA:

The immediate impression of this wonderful, award winning, India Pale Ale is soft and smooth but this builds around the mouth to a crescendo of massive hoppiness accentuated by honey. This converts into a powerful but pleasant, enduring bitter finish.

Can’t wait to see what this beer has to offer!

Lovely hazy orange color with a dense off-white head. The head has good retention and leaves a lot of lacing on the glass.

I’m getting a lot of citrus and pineapple on the nose. As the temperature of the beer rises some sweet malty aromas appear as well.

Overall this beer has a very fruity and refreshing aroma.

The flavor is also full of citrusy notes. I’m getting mostly lemon and some grapefruit.

The beer is well balanced with a lovely malty backbone matched with the crisp hoppy flavors.

Slightly bitter up front with some hints of fresh cut grass. Overall pretty dry.

A really refreshing and crisp British IPA. Lovely! Score: 4.2/5.

I picked up this bottle at Vinmonopolet Vika.
