Beer review: Stone Ruination IPA

Two more to go! This time we have one of my favourite beer styles: Double IPA. The beer in question is Ruination IPA from Stone Brewing Co.

Hazy light orange in color with a big head. As with the other beers I have reviewed from Stone the last couple of days this beer also has a really good head retention.

Intense hoppy aroma of grapefruit and pine. The aroma of this beer is really powerful. I’m trying to pick up some hints of the malts, but it seems it’s just a waste of time.

The flavor is equally strong with regards to the hops. Intense bitter flavor, yet it feels really smooth.

Dry very bitter finish which lasts for a good while. Towards the end you’re left with some really wonderful hoppy flavors. There are some boozy notes that appear in the finish as well.

As the bottle says: “A liquid poem to the glory of the hop!”. I agree. To me this is pure perfection. Score: 5/5.
