Beer review: Berentsens Bombay India Pale Ale

Today I’m reviewing an IPA from Berentsens Brygghus called Bombay. Berentsens recently changed the recipe of this beer and I was not able to try the old version so I can’t really do a comparison. Anyways, let’s get to it!

Berentsens Bombay India Pale AleLooks

Golden clear amber color with a big off-white head. The head disappears quickly and does not leave any laces.

I’m getting hints of pine and caramel from the aroma. There is slight hint of citrus as well.

This beer is quite bitter and I’m getting hints of grass and caramel.

The mouth feel is medium and the carbonation level is quite sharp and uncomfortable.

Long bitter finish with hints of pine and alcohol up front.

I usually enjoy British style IPA’s but I didn’t really enjoy this one. It’s a bit one dimensional and the sharp carbonation and the bitterness ruined it a bit for me. Score: 2.8/5.

This beer is available at Vinmonopolet.

Disclaimer: I received this bottle from Berentsens.
