Beer review: Ørbæk Fynsk Forår

Time for a beer that does not really fit the current season here in Norway, namely Fynsk Forår from Ørbæk in Denmark. This is in fact an organic “summer” beer, that was brewed with flowers of the elderberry.

Ørbæk Fynsk ForårLooks

Hazy yellow/light orange in color with a white head that quickly disappears.

Up front I’m getting some floral hints with a sweet body in the back. There are some citrus hints present and some spicy yeasty notes. Overall quite fruity and sweet.

As in the aroma there is a decent amount of floral flavors. The beer is quite sweet and feels a bit artificial. I’m getting some soapy hints that puts me off.

The mouth feel is medium and the carbonation level is quite sharp and fizzy.

Medium long finish with some floral soap like flavors and some other fruity notes up front.

For me this beer feels artificial, and it’s too sweet and “sticky”. Score: 2.3/5.

This beer is available at Vinmonopolet.

Disclaimer: I received this bottle from Interbev, the importer of Ørbæk in Norway.
