Beer review: Nøisom Cascadian APA

Time for a new local beer! Nøisom Cascadian APA is a low alcohol American Pale Ale with an ABV of 4.7%. Nøisom is a rather new microbrewery located in the town where I live.

This beer can be bought in some selected stores in Fredrikstad, Norway as long as the stock lasts. Nøisom will brew and bottle more batches of this beer so if you miss it the first time around it will be back soon. In a while it might appear in some stores outside of Fredrikstad as well. Let’s get started on the review!

Nøisom Cascadian APALooks

Deep orange, slightly brown color with white head that disappears quickly. The beer is also slightly hazy.

Aroma

Rich malty aroma with some fruity hints. I’m picking up some pine and orange zest.

As the beer warms up a bit some more sweet malty hints appear in the aroma.

Flavor

The flavor is close to the aroma, a nice malty base with some hints of pine and citrus fruits.

The body is slightly watery, and the carbonation is very soft.

Finish

I’m getting some hints of tropical fruits up front, which is quickly replaced with hoppy bitterness. The finish is quite long.

Rating

The beer is somewhat ruined by the low carbonation. The aroma and the flavors are pretty good for a 4.7% ABV beer, but it’s too flat. Score: 3.1/5.

Low carbonation is kinda typical with up and coming brews. Great to see such a clean label, great style up that way. It will get better for sure!

I would this @ Ultra Ski Storsenter yesterday. The label has been uupdatd and judging by the date I got a damn fresh bottle! I really enjoyed it! Clean and well brewed, appropriate carbonation although many would prefer a bit more. I found it to be clean and well brewed, but some more aroma hops sure wouldn’t hurt.

My fucking phone won’t let me edit. That post was outrageously badly written.
